Testing and Commissioning

Insulation resistance test (IR test): Tests the integrity of electrical insulation to prevent leakage of current.

Earth continuity test: Checks that metal parts are connected to the ground wire to avoid electrical hazard.

Polarity test: Ensures that connections are made correctly in the circuit.

Earth leakage test: Identifies unwanted leakage currents to earth, which can indicate potential electrical faults.

Continuity testing: Checks for a complete path for current flow in an electrical circuit.

Protective conductor continuity test: Verifies that there is no break in the circuit between the point of protection and the point of use.

Loop impedance test assesses the overall impedance of the earth loop.
